Why Organic Products are on Boom now
Use
of organic food items for the medicinal purposes has been a part of
human lifestyle since the inception of humanity. Almost all of the
synthetic products that we are now used to are mostly a result of
finding ways to increase profits. This is not to deny the fact that
some are a result of ethical scientific researches that were done in
order to benefit the human race. But since the start of synthetics,
we have only drifted farther and farther from the natural products.
We
are about to complete a cycle, realizing and coming back to the use
of natural products. A simple example of this can be the use of
jaggery. Decades before today, jaggery was a common and only
sweetener, then came sugar, which was more attractive and advertising
made it the only sweetener, replacing the jaggery. Then we realized,
Sugar is a bunch of blank calories, and is a cause of many diseases,
as a result, the popularity of jaggery increased again. It took us
decades before realizing that the less processed product is always
better than a heavily processed product, keeping the exceptions
apart.
This
generation of consumers is more educated and aware, it would prefer
to spend on healthy consumption rather than expensive treatments.
They are well aware of the adverse effects of fertilizers and
chemicals used on food products. Moreover, even the pests and insects
evolve too, and to battle these evolved pests, stronger fertilizers
and chemicals are being employed. All of these chemicals are a slow
poison for humanity and the planet.
The
other factor is the social media. Time and again there are videos
that go viral, which
show the manufacturing
of chemically produced items. Then there are social media
influencers, who encourage the use of healthy organic products. These
influencers can be celebrities, or a fitness instructor, or fitness
blogs. This has also helped to increase the reach of the organic
sector.
Nowadays,
consumers have an increasing interest in natural products, namely in
the case of cosmetic products. Several works refer to the advantages
of plant extracts, such as antioxidant capacity, tyrosinase
inhibition and antimicrobial activity, which can be beneficial for
attenuation
and prevention
of various skin conditions. The organic consumer is also concerned
about the environment and the sustainability. The consumers now are
focusing more on functionality rather than appearance.
-
The quality of the product goes beyond the intrinsic characteristics. For them, the most important is the environmental impact of production and consumption in accordance with environmental preservation;
-
The package design should be simple, using just a few materials;
-
